Discovered by Peter Sachs in 1985 off the South African coast. This Dutch ship was carrying a cargo of pepper and porcelain. Described by Peter as one of the most difficult wreck sites he ever
worked it is quite remarkable that they recovered intact Qing Dynasty porcelain. The bronze swivel gun c/w breach block (left) displays the VOC (Amsterdam) emblem.
Work on this wreck was done by special permit issued by the National Monuments Council of South Africa.
