180 tonnes of copper was salvaged from the SS Cariboo in 1992. This operation took place in 39 metres of water making it one of the deepest salvage operations
using divers, in South Africa. A six man decompression chamber on-board the Plus Ultra was used for his operation (see left). The copper is unloaded onto the quayside (right).
